It's official, you guys! We're moving to Germany! Wait!What? Why? When?...
Remember our trip to Cologne back in June? Well, now it's official that the auditions ended successfully for at least one of us. Rein has been accepted as a classical singing student at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. It's a fantastic school and I'm so incredibly happy for him to have this opportunity.
As for me, although I wasn't accepted I've decided to still go with him on this new adventure. What am I going to do in Cologne, you ask? Well, I have absolutely no idea, but somehow that doesn't make me anxious, or worried. Which is a first for me. I've always been the type of person who needs a plan and a goal in sight, but oddly enough, I'm really enjoying the freedom of not knowing what's next. It's somehow liberating, and also, exhilarating. I'm doing something I thought I'd never do, and I'm really proud of us for jumping head first into these foreign waters. It's going to be a hell of a ride, I can feel it already.
Rein is leaving at the end of September, and I will join him at the end of November once I'm done with work here in Tallinn. This also gives us some time to plan the move and think about the logistics of moving all my stuff to Cologne (I say "my stuff", because all of Rein's stuff fits into one suitcase). So, if anybody has moved to another country in this region and knows a good moving company, let me know.
It's been a roller coaster of a week, full of contrasting emotions. I'm so excited for our new dreams and adventures, but at the same time I'm sad to leave Estonia and move so far from our family and friends. I will miss them real bad. Which is why I'm glad we can wind down and enjoy the weekend with the people we love.
Sorry this post is such a mess of thoughts, but I'm still getting used to the idea myself.
