You guys, I'm so nervous about today's post. It almost feels like I'm about to post naked pictures of myself (lol). Singing is such an intimate act in some ways. I'm sharing a very important part of myself, and whenever you put that much of yourself out there, it's scary. But, on the other hand, I really want to share this with you. So, I hope you enjoy!
First video: Me & Rein singing the duet of Dorabella and Guglielmo from Mozart's opera "Cosi fan tutte"
Second video: Me, Rein & Ann singing the ensemble from Cimarosa's opera "Il matrimonio segreto"

You sound so beautiful! I loved the second video with the um.. attitude? I am always amazed at how well opera singers can project their voices! Super jealous :-)
ReplyDeleteYour dress is gorgeous too - I was telling my fiance how lovely it was watching you sew it together :-)
Thank you so much, Elizbeth! We're still beginners at it, but it's amazing to see how much progress we've made over the last 3 years in our singing.

My fiance's response to your comment: wow beginners?
DeleteWe are both super impressed by your talent and all the determination you have put in :-)
Hahaa, thanks! :D Well, opera singers usually train about 7-10 years, and we've been studying for 3 only, so we have a long road ahead still.
DeleteThank you both so much!
You have a beautiful voice! I am always impressed by people who can sing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Classical singing (or opera singing, as people know it) is mostly about training. If you could hear my singing 3 years ago.... :D
DeleteNii tore näha ja kuulda sind tegemas midagi, millest sa nii suure kirega põgusalt vaid kirjutanud oled!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! and with the exception of Madam Butterfly or Carmen, I'm no opera fan. But this is very good. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Madama Butterfly was the one opera that made me fall in love with opera and start studying it :)
DeleteSo fun! Thank you for sharing; they're lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've never been big on opera, but you are AMAZING. You have a beautiful voice. Thank you for sharing something that is so personal.
ReplyDeleteYou make me blush! It's always so intimidating putting such a big and important part out there. I'm so thankful for the awesome compliment!
DeleteYou sound absolutely wonderful. I have really enjoyed following your blog this past year and give you kudos for following your dream.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's nice to have you around :)
DeleteBeautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. In the second video both you ladies sang as one. Such good timing! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteIt's just purely beautiful! I envy so much people who can sing... I only sing in church and I'm not very good at it ;) but I can sew, so I could make myself a similar dress if I wanted to, ha! :D
ReplyDeleteWell, I always say, that If you can't sing your best, at least look you best :D
DeleteWow! Congratulations on your recital! I didn't know you were an opera singer. I love reading all your creative adventures and it was a pleasant surprise to read/hear you are a musician, too. I'm a professional pianist with music degrees in education, performance and conducting so I totally appreciate the hard work that goes into all that your pursuing. You are a multi-talented person! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah! So nie to meet you :) It's always so nice to come across another musician, although, you're years ahead of me in your studies. I just hope I'll get there too someday. :)
DeleteYou sing wonderfully! Thank you for sharing!
