Weekend Favorites: Cozy knits

It's that time of year again. Whenever the weather gets colder and the leaves change color I get that itch. The itch to put on my wool socks and chunky sweater, and cuddle up next to my sweetheart with my knitting needles and some yarn. I'm definitely going to do some knitting this weekend.

  1. With the cold weather setting in (today we've had winter cold winds, and even a few tiny snowflakes), I'm all about warm, thick layers. That knitted hood especially is such a clever idea! My ears hurt every time I'm outside in the cold wind for more than a few minutes, so I think I need to try to make myself one, as a fun alternative to beanies!

Happy weekend! Hope you'll get in lots of crafting time. :)

    1. I'm also a fan of the pixie hood. I'm thinking of ways to diy it with old sweaters. I don't have time to take up such a big knitting project at the moment. But I do hope I get some crafty time today.

      Have a creative weekend, Ana!

  3. I love those slippers.....although they look felted with some cool (a belt maybe?) embellishment....I'm afraid it's all I can do to try & cut up old clothes & attempt to redesign them...unfortunately I'll have to admire the woolen products from afar... just don't have time or talent for that stuff. I congratulate you all living in colder climates for being so motivated to think of creative ways to stay warm....We're still having 70-80 degrees here in the southern USA (Farenheit - sorry) so I'm just layering cotton tops - prob thru November :( but I'm dying to pull out the sweaters!!! Will maybe try to make those totally awesome socks/leg warmers from an old sweater if I can swing it! Thanks for sharing that terrific idea - I noticed the same knit used on those socks also on a mini skirt in another post! Great way to recycle, Hanna!! Sorry to ramble...Sunday morning coffee quiet time...

    1. The slippers are felted, but I just loved them so much I had to include them :). I would be glad to wear light layers all year round, but I guess the grass is always greener...
