I've always been very into hair. I remember growing it long when I was little. I wished for the longest hair and when they finally got long, I tried all sorts of new braids and updos. So, it only seemed natural to start doing hair tutorials. I love inventing new hairdos and trying new styles.
This over the head braid has become a fast favourite this summer. Once you get the hang of it, it's rather quick and jealous looks are guaranteed (lol).

Laura, mul on siiralt hea meel, et otsustasid sõna võtta. Nii tore on teada, kes on teisel pool ekraani. Veel toredam, kui see, mida teen, kellelgi meeldib ja ehk isegi inspireerib. Ja mis puudutab punutist, siis kunagi pole liiga hilja ka ise kätt proovida. Mõni ütleb küll, et harjutamine teeb harjutajaks, aga mina arvan, et pigem ikka meistriks :).

ReplyDeleteYou can definitely do Dutch braid instead of French, since the first is basically the same as the other, only kind of in reverse. Short hair? That depends on how short is short :D. Trying is key here!
DeleteHow do you only French braid it on one side with it not twisting or looking funny? Everything I try one sided braid like that it always looks weird
ReplyDeleteKaty, it might be that you're pulling the hair too tight. I encourage you to just keep practicing, it didn't work for me on the first tries either. Happy braiding!
DeleteI loved this tutorial!! I have kinda short hair (above the shoulders) and it worked perfectly, my bangs are long... I have to practice it a few more times :D

Deleteim going to do this and see if i can get a certain somebody to notice me but instead of doing the bun im just doing it like a braided headband.

Deletehow do you actually do the bun? lots of my friends at school do those and all i can seem to do is the "dont pull all the way through" bun:(
ReplyDeleteThe first thing you could do is google "how to make a bun". There are lots of tutorials out there. They are not always very clear, but they might help you out. I did take lots of pictures from the bun angle as well, so I'll put together a bun tutorial over the weekend, so you can check back and hopefully get your answer.
DeleteI can never start it at the ear, it always makes it weird...hard to explain. it always moves to the front of my head. any ideas?
ReplyDeleteHi, Karsyn! It's hard to recomment anything without seeing what goes wrong when you make it. One thing I would suggest is trying to pull the strands towards the back of your head, especially at the beginning, especially the third strand (counting from the front to the back). The best thing you can do is simply practice the beginning and I'm sure you'll figure it out! Good luck!
